Mullets Forward Commits to ACHA Bethel For 2020 Season

MINNEAPOLIS -- The Minnesota Mullets’ Offseason of Commitments continued Thursday, as the team announced forward Aaron Moots has committed to ACHA Bethel University in the fall of 2020.

“I’m really excited to go to Bethel,” Moots said. “I’m really happy that I’ll be fortunate enough to continue playing the sport I love while I get an education that will guide my future. I’ve had a lot of connections with Bethel since I was in high school; I have a lot of friends there and I enjoy the fit for me religiously as well.”

Moots played all 44 regular season games for the Mullets this season, scoring 5 goals and adding 9 assists finishing 7th on the team in points. A two-year member of the Mullies, Moots did not miss a game in either season. He ends his Mullets career with 12 goals and 14 assists in 85 games.

“I really loved playing for Coach Walby and the Mullets, both in Forest Lake and in Minneapolis,” Moots said. “Both were great cities for us to play in, and I especially loved packing the new rink (Northeast Ice Arena in Minneapolis) this year. All the guys I got to play with are great, and I loved having the chance to play with such a tight-knit group.”

Moots plans to study business, with a major in either marketing or management. His Mullets teammate Jake Lindblom committed to Bethel earlier this week.

“I’m extremely happy for Aaron and excited to watch his career continue at Bethel,” Mullets Head Coach Chris Walby said. “Aaron was confident in which schools appealed to him and why they did. He was fantastic for us on and off the ice. Bethel was at the top of his list, so this could not have worked out much better. We wish him the best of luck and success in his academic and hockey careers.”

With the commitment to Bethel University, Moots is the 51st player from Walby’s programs to advance to a collegiate program over the past eight years, and the 9th Mullet to advance to college from the 2019-20 team. For more information on the Mullets program, go to www.mulletshockey.com.
