Minneapolis, Minn. – The Minnesota Mullets will participate in the much-anticipated Dairyland Invitational held July 21-23 at the Hobbs Ice Center in Eau Claire, Wisconsin.

Located in the heartland of the USHL, NAHL, USPHL and dozens of NCAA programs, the Dairyland Invitational has several features that set it apart from any other showcase and a must attend for both player and scout.

“Over the years, I’ve been apart of several conversations about a “super showcase” strategically placed with in hours of the top players and programs in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Iowa, the Dakotas, Manitoba and Northwest Ontario,” said Chris Walby, Head Coach and GM of the Mullets.  “I’m pumped that we get to be to be apart of it.”

The tournament is capped at 20 teams in one division (’98-’02 birth years) and the list of coaches and general managers assembling each squad is what Walby refers to as “super recruiters".

“There has been a group of USHL, NAHL and Tier 3 coaches and scouting staffs that have really put the time in each offseason,” said Walby. “They’ve been everywhere.  Attending various recruiting events and helping each other out at their own camps for years.”

“The talent they’ll bring will set this showcase apart from all the rest.  It’s a great group of coaches (and staff) who have all built successful organizations for themselves, but who have also helped stock the rosters for the top NCAA programs across the country for years.”

Each team entered is guaranteed four games with the opportunity to play additional games in the Sunday playoff rounds.  Each team will have the opportunity to tour the UW Eau Claire locker room and hockey facility.  Players will also attend a Junior Hockey Q&A Symposium hosted by the Mullets and led by the Mullet staff and it’s guest speakers.
