Forward Morrison Commits to Mullets

By: Dan Bradley

FOREST LAKE, MN -- The Minnesota Mullets are excited to announce forward Tyler Morrison (’00) has joined the team for the 2018-19 Season. The Mullets announced the signing following the Capstone Invitational preseason tournament in Edina, MN.

“I’m really excited to join the Mullets,” Morrison said. “I knew they have a great program that will help me improve and ultimately get to the next level.

Morrison finished the 2017-18 season recording 44 points (21 G, 23 A) for the Ironwood Fighting Yoopers. He also added an assist in two playoff games. The Wakefield, MI native looks to build on last year’s strong showing and find both personal and team success this year.

“My experience so far playing at the junior level has been very eye-opening,” Morrison said. “The level of play is a lot more competitive than anything I’ve experienced before. I’m very competitive with myself; each game I try to improve my performance, and I plan to push myself to help the team in any way I can.”

“Tyler is a great pick up for us,” Mullets Head Coach Chris Walby said. “He had a tremendous year last season and put up a number of points in this league. He’s young too, which was even more impressive. I’m excited to add him to the mix. We need to replace some offense from last season and I think he’s going to be a great fit and love it here.”

The Mullets open the season on the road against the Dells Ducks on September 14th; the home opener will be September 29thversus the Steele County Blades. More schedule information will be available in the coming weeks. Stay tuned to www.mulletshockey.com for updates.
